Fox River Middle School Principal Mrs. Darlene Markle and several staff members have been working hard to offer a “Blended Learning” opportunity for up to 25 eighth grade students during the 2016-17 school year.
Below is the letter and informational flyer that was shared on Friday. A parent meeting with opportunity to ask questions will take place on Thursday, February 18, at 6:00 PM in the Fox River library. Please share this post with those current and future Fox River families who may be interested in a blended learning option next year and beyond. It is my privilege to contact you today regarding a new opportunity that will be made available to the 8th grade class of 2016-2017.
Because of Fox River Middle School’s commitment to student achievement and engagement, we have partnered with an organization called The Institute for Personalized Learning. The mission of The Institute is to help schools develop innovative programs that are designed to meet the needs of our 21st century learners. Our partnership with The Institute, and the hard work of the dedicated Fox River staff, has resulted in an exciting opportunity for your child, the R.E.A.C.H. program. Details about the R.E.A.C.H. program can be found in the attached brochure.
As is true with any new opportunity, I am sure that many of you will have questions about the program, its purpose, its goals, and how it may or may not be a good fit for your child. In order to help guide your decision regarding your child’s participation in R.E.A.C.H., I will be offering a parent meeting regarding the program on Thursday, February 18, at 6:00 PM in the Fox River library.
The R.E.A.C.H. program is a tremendous opportunity for our students to use their voices to shape their education, and will be a wonderful complement to the exceptional programming already in place at Fox River. I feel privileged to be able to offer them this opportunity, and I welcome the chance to discuss the program with you on February 18.
