This website is a community service created and authored by Matt Kranich at his expense and time. It is not likely that ALL meetings will be recorded and/or made available because stuff happens and attendance may not be possible.
The purpose of this website is to document the information, proceedings, and personalities of the Waterford Graded School District Board and the elected Members. It is the author’s belief that more information (such as copies of handouts) and improved access to information (such as the ability to watch the School Board in action from your home) is a benefit to the community.
Numerous community members have requested more handouts at meetings. Despite these requests, meetings continue with little or no handouts.
The right to attend and record school board meetings is protected by Wisconsin’s Open Meetings Law. The right to obtain documents shared with the school board is protected by Wisconsin’s Public Records Law.
Finally, opposition to requests for information or to document the Board’s proceedings should not be taken lightly. Members of the Board are elected by the public to serve the public. The only way to determine if a Board member is doing their job appropriately is to have access to the same information they do.
