This is a great question. I would say yes if you want to be on the cutting edge of education with technology and theory, but that would depend on the specific school. I see disparity between buildings and what is expected.

NO The merit pay is based on an unfair way to rate teachers. It is totally based on favoritism. Consistent rating is not done. The negative climate does not do well to develop new staff members. The walk thru which is done with staff members/administrators creates a very tense environment.

1. NO – Teachers, young and old, are not treated with respect. Salaries/treatment of new teachers might be attractive at the beginning, but what is the incentive to remain in the district? Senior teachers are not valued nor appreciated for all that they have done for the District and past students. The only happy ending is that our parents of past students have acknowledged our value.

5. My concern is that if you get a job in Waterford how long will you last? I have seen teachers with lots of experience and have had good reviews be let go… is that where I would want my son or daughter to work… not highly recommending it.
