fair. I think it was improving until the non-renewals went out. I think it was in VERY poor judgment that non-renewals were delivered to teachers WHILE THEY HAD STUDENTS WITH THEM. We pride ourselves in our professionalism, and when you essential fire someone in front of their students, it is insensitive and disrespectful.

The climate varies as the stress and work load increases as dictated by end of trimester assessments and reports. Stress can also escalate during the summative reviews and during the walk throughs. For the most part, when stressful situations are not present, the staff that I work with are positive in the classrooms.

Poor-and getting worse, the board continues to be secretive about community meetings, job layoffs and no-renewals. There is no trust with this board and almost no honesty either. Increased class sizes add to the frustration of trying to reach every student and further reinforces the need for reading and math intervention pull out which then further sends kids behind academically. Having small class size will reduce the need for as much reading and math intervention support. Merit Pay does not reflect teacher’s skills, it really only reflects the dollar amount allowed in the budget and it is making staff feel resentful and not possible to meet the standards because we cannot change individual students lives/circumstances outside of school which influence their abilities. Students are not a product, but a person thus we are not a business! Mr. Joch’s record awards for staff each month, is a joke, we nominate each other for doing a good job, really you’re telling us we should pat ourselves on the back to fix the morale problem which is caused by the board and their actions? What a joke!

poor – we are pitted against each other and everyone is out for themselves and we do not work together for the
common goal. Our environment is set up to be very competitive and we can’t help each other out b/c that would
make us (the individual) stand out and be praised by our principal

Poor. The staff here are very tense, stressed out, and scared. The teacher do not each lunch together, no one does anything outside of school, people are pit against each other in a competition for test scores. People don’t seem to like working at our school. It is really sad

Poor Favoritism is very prominent. Same people on the committees, same people can do things that others would get into trouble for. Management needs to give respect to get respect. There is no respect for the teachers.

1. Poor – I feel that the teachers are becoming very divided… are you on the good list or bad??? Teachers are not being treated equally and it is very clear that it is not only not changing but getting worse. Once again, depends on who you are.

5. Poor to fair depending on the time of year.
6. Poor – staff is asked to do more, more, more for less, less, less. Non-monetary acknowledgement from admin, of hard work are even few and far between.
