Who’s Running for WGSD School Board?
This year there are three candidates running for two positions. Two of the candidates are seeking re-election (Amanda Fiehweg and Jordan Karweik, both elected in 2015) and the third (Doug Schwartz) previously served on the WGSD Board.
All three candidates have information that can be found on Facebook, and a WGSDMeetings post from 2015 shows the literature that was distributed by the candidates that year when they advanced to the general election.
How to Vote Early – Procedures Differ by Municipality
If you will be traveling or just too busy to vote on Election Day (Tuesday, April 3), you can still vote this week. Early and absentee voting continues through this Friday, but each municipality has a different procedure. In the Village of Rochester, for example, residents can vote early up until 4 PM on Wednesday and Thursday, but the Village of Rochester municipal building will be closed on Friday due to the holiday. However, I am told a sign will be posted on the door with a phone number, and residents can call to arrange to be met at the Rochester Village Hall and will still be allowed to vote early on Friday.
If you have questions contact your municipality. A link to the three largest municipalities is posted below.

State law requires that you present your Photo ID in order to vote. If registering for the first time, you will also need to bring along proof of residence. Contact your polling place to determine what is required to show proof of residence.
