The Board of Education believes it is not the specific number of students in a classroom but the teacher’s instructional strategies that have the greatest impact upon student achievement. The Board believes smaller class sizes are conducive to a positive learning environment and class size is a factor to be considered when analyzing achievement data. The Board will also factor in space availability in the District and each school building, classroom composition, students with special education needs, and the annual budget when determining staffing and class sizes.
